One unique combination of metric name and label set. For example,
http_requests_total{service="api-gateway", status="200"} is one series. http_requests_total{service="api-gateway", status="500"} is a second series. Your Prometheus TSDB or Datadog account shows you the exact count.On Scale: overage billing at $0.05 per 1,000 additional series per month. On Free and Pro: you receive an email warning when you approach 80% of your cap. Series already in baseline learning continue to be monitored and suppressed. New series above your cap are observed but not filtered until you upgrade or the next billing cycle resets your count.
Yes. No contracts, no annual commitments on Pro or Scale. Cancel from your workspace settings and billing stops at the end of the current billing period. Your data is retained for 30 days after cancellation.

No. ObsrvHQ stores baseline statistical parameters derived from your metric stream: per-hour mean, standard deviation, and percentile bounds. The raw time-series values themselves are not stored.
